Wakefield GeocachingGeocaching is a modern outdoor treasure hunt using a smartphone or GPS to locate hidden containers called “geocaches”.
Sentiers Wakefield Trails has a series of 20+ hidden geocaches on the trails around the Wakefield Village. You will need a phone or GPS, our Wakefield Geocaching Passport, a pencil, some water, good shoes and a friend.
The geocache locations are on the www.geocaching.com apps (phone).

What is Wakefield Geocaching?
Geocaching is a modern outdoor treasure hunt using a smartphone or GPS to locate hidden containers called “geocaches”.
Sentiers Wakefield Trails has a series of 20+ hidden geocaches on the trails around the Wakefield Village. You will need a phone or GPS, our Wakefield Geocaching Passport , a pencil, some water, good shoes/boots and a friend to start exploring Wakefield. Respect the flora and fauna and please tread lightly. Our geocaches are in fun and easy places to locate. Remember, cache in and trash out.
Getting Started.
Sign up for a free geocaching account at www.geocaching.com and on the site you can learn all about geocaching.
or download the geocaching groundspeak mobile app on your phone and search for Wakefield QC.
If the terrain or level of difficulty to find the cache is more than 2 you will need to check the details for the cache on the geocaching web site not the mobile app (there is no need to upgrade to premium). The idea is for you to plan your hike and stay safe outside .
You can also type the waypoints (latitude and longitude) into google maps to locate the hidden treasures.
Look and Look Again!
Sign the log book, take something and leave something of equal value (no food), log found and add an awesome comment and pic to the geocaching app. Then place the cache back in the exact location you found it.
