Sentiers Wakefield Trails would like to thank everyone who helped us celebrate National Trail Day. We had a good turn out and met many people who enjoyed our local trails, including a number who had come hiking for the first time. Special thanks to Chris MacLean and Company, Wakefield Cubs, Suzette Schmiedel, Sharon Kopil, Leilak Anderson, and Irene Richardson who provided a variety of activities along the trails.
Hugs to our hard working volunteers, Jackie Graham, Emmy Mason, Dominique Dery, Rowen Jordan, Anna Barbour, Heather Barbour, Johnny Mason, Sam Woods, Isaac Duncan and Karen Bays who pitched in before, during, and/or after the event. Many thanks to the Wakefield Mill, Expedition Wakefield, Centre Wakefield LaPeche and Belle de Nuit B&B for the donation of prizes to our activities. We could not have done it without Alison Scott, Tasha Forget, Carly Woods, Irene Richardson, and Stella Mandrak – an amazing group of women who assisted with graphics, communication, promotion and/or coordination of the event. Deep appreciation to our sponsors Nadine Lacasse and Sebastien Aubin, of Brunet Pharmacy, and KEENfootwear. Hats off to our hard workers Adrian Vaillancourt, Bodi Delgrosse, Daniel Reginbald, Rick Muise, Archie Smith, Tom Mason, Ken Bouchard, and Anne Marie and Francois Cousineau for getting the trails in tip top shape. And lastly, big hooray to Michael Kinghorn for his iron work for our historical posts. Please check our FB page, Sentiers Wakefield Trails, to see some of the event participation and the names of prize winners.
