​Ken and his volunteers have been building and maintaining trails for over 30 years in the Gatineau Hills and both the volunteers and trails are awesome!  As a special thanks  we donated a Trail Bench in honour of  Ken on the Summit Trial at the MacLaren Cemetery Saturday Nov. 26, 2016.

In April 2016, Ken was the recipient of the Sovereign’s Medal for Volunteers for his Trails leadership and work.
 
The bench was built by Nick Appleby. The fundraising was lead by Irene Richardson and the donations were from the Wakefield Walkers, Wakefield Nordic Walkers and many friends.

​2015 Trail Bench Fundraiser in Honour of Tom Ryan

This Bench on the Summit Trail is in honour of Tom Ryan, founder of the Wakefield Walkers group in 2000. Congratulations Tom for your intuition and motivation to start the group and your 15 years of dedication in organizing, leading and taking care of us.
