En 2010, à la suite de ces travaux, le sentier Transcanadien a été prolongé du parc de la Gatineau à Wakefield, traversant la rivière au pont couvert et traversant le parc Hendrick au Fairbairn House Heritage Centre

In 2005, Wakefield Ensemble sponsored an ongoing project to build, extend and maintain trails in the village and its environs. In 2010, as a result of this work, the Trans Canada Trail now called The Great Trails was extended from Gatineau Park through Wakefield along the River Walk in 2018, crossing the river at the covered bridge and running through Hendrick Park at Fairbairn House Heritage Center.

Avec l'aide de MEC, au printemps / été 2015, Sentiers Wakefield Trails a effectué un relevé GPS des sentiers autour du village pour améliorer physiquement les surfaces, améliorer la signalisation, améliorer la sécurité et développer et imprimer une nouvelle carte de sentiers pour notre réseau de sentiers. Note: Une carte de sentiers mise à jour sera imprimée en 2018.
With the assistance of MEC, in the spring/summer of 2015, Sentiers Wakefield Trails conducted GPS survey of the trails around the village to physically upgrade surfaces, improve signage, improve safety and develop and print a new trail map for our trail system.
